A Non-rebreathing mask (NRM) is a medical device used to provide high-concentration oxygen in emergency situations. This mask consists of a face mask connected to a reservoir bag filled with high-concentration oxygen. The reservoir bag connects to an oxygen tank. The mask covers the nose and mouth, and a one-way valve prevents exhaled air from entering the oxygen reservoir. During breathing, the valve on the outer surface of the mask should always remain open.
Application
General instructions for medical personnel:
Connect the tubing to the oxygen device.
Adjust the oxygen pressure.
Check the oxygen flow and verify the valve function:
The valve between the mask and the reservoir should inflate during inhalation and deflate during exhalation. The valve on the external surface of the mask should open during exhalation.
Warning: Always check the oxygen flow at the inlet valve before placing the mask on the patient.
Place the mask on the patient’s face with the elastic band below the ears and around the neck. Adjust the tightness until the patient feels comfortable. Adjust the metal strip on the mask according to the size of the nose.
